The Sports Meet 2009 of Badulla Central College ended on 24th February 2009 with a grand celebration. The Chief Guests were the Deputy Minister of Education Hon. Satchidanandan and the Chief Minister of Uva Provincial Council Hon. Gamini Wijith Wijayamuni.
The Director of Education of Uva Province and principals from the nearby schools were also present in the festival. The festival started at 1.30 p.m. lasted until 6.00 p.m. All the students were caught in the sea of surprise as the positions of the legendary four houses, Mahaweil, Kelani, Nilwala and Walawe kept changing until the last moment. At the peak of sutdent's anticipation the Walawe house was announced to capture the first place preceded by Mahaweli. Kelani house and Nilwala house came third and fourth respectively.
