Badulla MMV Journal

Prefects Day of Badulla Central College was celebrated on 13th, March 2009. The Chief Guests were the Minister of Harbour Development Dilan Perera, the Director of Education of Uva Province K.M.Jayasooriya.

The Special Guests were the Principal of Badulla Technical College Mr. Gamini Chandrasekara and the school's former head prefect Chamith de Arthur.
The programme started at 8.00 a.m. continued till 12.30 p.m. The programme started with the hoisting of flags. The national flag was hoisted by Hon. Dilan Perera, the Uva Provincial flag by Mr.K.M.Jayasooriya and the school flag by the school principal Mr. S.H.K. Alwis. The religious observance was done by the Vice Principal of the school Rev. Kanawaralle Hemaloka Thero. Then the school anthem was sung by the music group of the school under the guidance of Mrs. Chandani de Silva.
The Welcome speech was delivered by the techer in-charge of Prefects Mr. Dayasena Kapurusinghe. The prefects took oath under the guidance of the Deputy Principal of Junior Secondary Section of the school Mr. B.M.P.S.K Basnayaka. The head and assistant prefects were pinned by the Hon. Dilan Perera. The sectional head and vice prefects were pinned by the Director Mr. K.M. Jayasooriya and Mr. Gamini Chandrasekara. The probational prefects were pinned by Mr. Chamith de Arthur and the school principal Mr. S.H.K. Alwis.
Other prefects were pinned by their parents. A traditional dance was performed by the dance group under the guidance of teacher Mrs. Merci Fernando. A song was beautifully sung by a school prefect, Lathika Madushanka. Read more
